Champignon North America, Inc.
Since the early 1980’s Champignon North America, Inc. is the import, sales and marketing arm of Käserei Champignon in the US. Our corporate office is located in Englewood Cliffs, NJ just minutes away from New York City. All of our cheeses are shipped by either sea or air container on a weekly basis from Germany. This is one of the many ways we ensure freshness and quality of our cheese to specialty distributors and retailers across the country.
The first of the cheeses to be imported from our factories in Germany was CAMBOZOLA. It quickly became a favorite and a cornerstone soft ripened blue cheese for many retailers across the country. From there, subsequent new products were introduced such as CHAMPIGNON Mushroom, CHAMPIGNON de Luxe Garlic and Peppercorn, ROUGETTE and the Bavarian Limburger to name a few.
In 2010, we launched CAMBOZOLA Black Label, our cold ripened version of CAMBOZOLA. It has grown in popularity with the specialty cheese shops across the country due to its creaminess and elegant kick of blue. Along came 2013 and we were proud to launch our ROUGETTE Grill Meister grilling cheese, made especially for grilling on an outdoor grill or in a pan on the stovetop. Unlike any other grilling cheese, it is a soft ripened product giving it a truly buttery taste and something different for retailers and consumers. Our product development team in Germany will continue to bring unique and innovative cheeses with exceptional quality to consumers in the US.
Our sales team combines knowledgeable Regional Sales Managers along with specialty brokers in key markets. Together, they cover the entire US selling to many retail and foodservice distributors. To introduce our cheeses to the end consumers we sample them in stores as well as at events, supplying customers with a taste of our Bavarian cheeses and with tips on how to serve and store them.
